The website Serebii.net has confirmed that the Pokemon Charizard will have two mega evolutions, one for “Pokemon X” and one for “Pokemon Y.” This news was announced on October 2, 2013. The previously revealed mega form of Charizard is the “Pokemon Y” form, and the newly revealed form is for “Pokemon X.”
More details about this mega evolution, aside from its appearance, have also been announced. The new mega form will actually be a Fire/Dragon-type, something that Pokemon fans have been wanting for years. It will also possess a new ability called Tough Claws, which increases the power of Physical moves that make contact with the opponent (such as biting and punching moves). This form also possesses a better Physical Attack stat than Mega Charizard Y.
The page for mega Pokemon on the official Pokemon website has also added new details about Mega Charizard Y. It will have a much higher Special Attack stat, and will know the ability Drought.
