A Saratoga Weekend!

Despite the seemingly chilly temps this week, lest not forget that summer is not over yet! In fact, if you're up in Saratoga this weekend, it's just heating up and marking the mid-point of the glorious, track season.

What are you doing this weekend? Don't know yet? Here, let me help you....

This weekend in Saratoga there are SO many live shows to choose from. Our little capital region's talented artists are gracing us with their presence, and performing for us, for FREE, in most cases.

On Friday night, start out with Happy Hour at Gaffney's on Caroline Street. Rick Bolton and Jeff Walton will be performing to close out the work week and get you ready for the weekend.

After the specials at Gaffney's end, head down the street to Dango's to hear the electrifying horn band, Groove Therapy. With the variety of tunes they play from back-in-the-day to more current beats, they'll for sure have you dancing the night away!

If you're strolling down Broadway and want to pop into a place that's family friendly and serves up delicious eats and equally delicious tunes, head to The Grey Gelding to swoon over, I mean, listen to Seth Warden.

If you're at the track all day and don't want to make the trek back to Caroline Street, the Horseshoe Inn on Nelson Ave. will be rocking out with The AudioStars, a local band that always delivers.

Moving on to Saturday night, you can find live music again at the venues listed above but the highlight of Saturday night will surely be at The Putnam Den on Putnam Street in Saratoga. Rustic Overtones are back and this jazzy/funky rock band have  come a long way since playing together in their garage in Maine! Playing tunes off their most recent album, The New Way Out and their more vintage collection. The Folkadelics, will start the show at 8pm and there is a $10 ticket price, which you can scoop up at the door. (Worth it, I promise.)

Hard to pick just one place? I know! It's like Christmas for the Live-Music Lover! Good thing all the musicians will be playing way into the night so you can hit 'em all up for a weekend that will, most definitely, be remembered.
