Kate Middleton and Prince Williams baby will be born in July, it has been announced. I’m thrilled to hear the due date is July but disappointed there is no specific due date announced. After all, that’s what charts are based on—the day and time. But, we can still get a sense of who and what the baby will be about as a person. This is no way meant to be a complete personality composite, but we can look at bits and pieces.
Since he or she will be born in July, this royal person will be a Cancer- unless of course, the due date is July 23 or after, and that means a Leo. Quite a difference between these two. The Guardian newspaper calculates mid-July, and an astrological friend of mine calculates around the 22. Prince William looks really happy the week of the 14th. So, for the time being I will use this general time frame.
Cancer is the 4th sign of the zodiac and the most sensitive of signs. Cancer has the natural ability to empathize and tune in to other people. A good talent for someone who will be a future ruler—and of course it is not lost that Princess Diana was a Cancer as well, whose greatest gift was her ability to connect with others.
So, assuming the baby is born on or before the 22st, he/she will have a Venus in Leo. Leo is the sign ruling royalty anyway and this Venus in no wallflower. Using Sun sign astrology, Venus will fall in the 2ond house of this chart, insuring a life of financial ease and beautiful things. This would also give a positive viewpoint of the self, but being born a royal would probably do that!
Mercury, the planet ruling thinking and communication will be in Cancer all month during July. Mercury is retrograde and turns direct on the 20th. Mercury in Cancer makes this individual an emotional thinker, and will give him (I will use him in a general sense meaning him OR her) the ability to communicate with others on an emotional level as well. This person could stir up the masses.
If the baby is born before the 20th Mercury will be retrograde making him a deep thinker. Retrograde Mercury individuals often have a feeling of being inarticulate in their communications with others and can get frustrated. These individuals must take time to reflect before speaking. It is said those born with retrograde Mercury could not speak what they thought in past lives, but rather had to speak what others believed, rather than what they believed themselves.
Mars enters Cancer on July 14, so assuming the baby is born on or after this date he will have a Mars in Cancer, making him a Cancer through and through. Mars denotes our action, and this baby will have not only the Cancer sun sign, but the actions of a Cancer as well. Mars in the first house can denote a strong personality. This individual will be devoted to home and family and very dominant there.
Jupiter enters Cancer in June 22, and around the middle of June Jupiter is at 5 degrees of Cancer, potentially giving the baby a Mars-Jupiter conjunction. Mars and Jupiter together denote royalty and are very dynamic.
Saturn is at about 5 degrees of Scorpio, falling in the 5th house. Saturn in the 5th generally indicates an individual who has difficulty finding love, and often these people do not have children, or if they do experience difficulties. Saturn however, will be part of a grand water trine in the chart, between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. Wow!
A grand trine exists when 3 planets in the same element all form a 120 degree with each other. In this case it will be from the first house (self) to the fifth house of children/love affairs and friends to the 9th house of education, spirituality and outlook on the world. Whatever the date of birth, this baby will be born with a grand water trine.
A grand trine in water signs denotes an individual who seems to flow from one situation to another, and is generally considered lucky. It represents an effortless flow of energy between the planets and houses, and reveal where one’s talent and comfort levels may be. The energy flows in this direction with no hindrances. An individual with this configuration would tend to feel choices without having to consciously think about them.
On the negative side the individual could be lax in making conscious decisions about matters connected to the grand trine and it (the grand trine) can take on a life of its own without the individual being an active participant. In other words, at its worst the individual could become lazy. Generally through, this configuration is associated with ‘good karma’ and the individual would be subject to special advantages to be enjoyed with the common element of the three planets and the houses represented by them. In this case the individual will be born to a life of ease, but will feel responsibilities toward friends, and having children (if he has children-a whole other question). With Neptune in the ninth this person could feel a very spiritual connection with the world and his or her place in it.
Like all individuals born during this period, the royal baby will be born with a Uranus-Pluto square in his/her chart. The last group of people born with this configuration was born from 1930-35-depression era babies. This transit can make for a great deal of frustration, depending on where it is located in the chart. These individuals can be rebels, and there can be a great deal of internal pressure. This individual may rebel against the ‘status quo,’ and want to live life on his own terms. This will be a generational transit, as all of those born during this period will share characteristics and experiences, just like individuals born form the early to mid 1930’s were coming of age during WW11, which to some degree shaped their characters.
So, we can deduce this royal will be Cancer through and through. Even if he is born after July 23, there will still be many planets in Cancer. We may be reminded of Diana, and I expect this individual to be connected to images of Diana and her persona (Diana’s) to resonate within the subconscious of this next matriarch or patriarch of the Windsor line.
