Julius Meinl's Monk's Tea
Name: Monk's Tea
Brand: Julius Meinl
Type: Flavored black tea
Form: Loose leaf
Review: Chicago coffee house, Julius Meinl, also offers a great range of teas. During a recent visit, I asked one of their friendly staff if she had any favorite teas. She immediately pointed out the Monk's Tea and enthusiastically told me that it was her favorite.
I brought some Monk's Blend home and, after my first cup, found myself agreeing with her enthusiasm. This is a light, subtle tea, perfect for cold afternoons.
Monk's Tea is a Ceylon black tea blended with Jasmine blossoms, vanilla, and some other spices. The use of dry Jasmine blossoms, instead of Jasmine oil, works well in this tea: The Jasmine does not dominate, but instead provides a sweet, slightly floral backnote to the stronger vanilla and spice notes.
The tea infuses to a light caramel brown with a milky caramel nose to match. On the palate, the tea is light bodied, clean-tasting, and well-blended. Vanilla dominates somewhat, but it is otherwise a very well-blended tea, that matches well with light pastries and cookies. It is also a very nice "sipping tea". Recommended.

Jasmine in a black tea? And it seems to work out pretty well. Good to know.
I got something similar to what you have described from a website called youmeandtea.com It was sooo good, I went back and ordered more.
