Jeff Stevison is an independent contractor with many friends, a passion for music and a huge hospital bill. On August 22, 2013, Jeff was driving to Cincinnati to work on a job when some debris flew off his truck while driving down I-71. In an exclusive interview with Jeff's wife, Barb, the story unfolded as described below.
Jeff stopped to clear the debris off the highway and to see about a car that might have been hit by the debris. A second car swerved and struck Jeff. He wasn’t killed, but he was severely injured. He was transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus and went to the trauma unit.
In addition to multiple broken bones, Jeff suffered severe brain trauma that has left him in need of rehabilitation, and more medical bills to come. Jeff is tough. On the third day of an eight day stay in Grant Hospital’s trauma unit, Jeff was up and walking. Now he has severe headaches every night that is slowing his rehabilitation.
Jeff has no health insurance. His truck was demolished, and he only has the required liability insurance. With no truck and months of rehabilitation, Jeff is in serious financial difficulties. There is going to be a benefit for Jeff at Lucky’s Bar, 807 South Columbus Street, Lancaster, OH 43130 on Sunday, September 15, 2013.
The benefit will run from noon to 10 p.m. There will be 50/50 drawings and multiple bands. There will be a substitute musician in Jeff’s regular band. Please let people know about this benefit and be there if you can.
