A refresh for vegan information

A couple years ago, I duct-taped together a site under a pricey domain name, vegan.fm. Since then, I’ve been gradually adding more features aimed at being tremendously useful to anyone wanting to become or already vegan.

Unfortunately, the design of this site wasn’t tremendously user-friendly. This is why more recently, I’ve given it a complete refresh allowing users to look up all kinds of information crucial to vegan living.
Here are some of the features I hope many will find useful at Vegan.FM

Blog

Don’t worry, it’s not just a stream of yammering from me but experienced animal rights writers all aggregated into one area. Updated regularly.

Shows

I noticed there are a lot of great shows out there, but it’s hard to find them in one spot. I also infused these selected podcasts with consistent simplicity. Each show page features two huge buttons to subscribe either by RSS or right through iTunes.

iVegan

iVegan is probably the most popular area of Vegan.FM, this is the result of years of databasing information on ingredient names, products, alcohols (via Barnivore.com), animal-testing companies, and recipes for quick lookup. There is also the iVegan homepage for super fast searching.
By the way, you can help us make iVegan better by creating an account and adding new entries. It’s easy.

The Forum (“Go Vegan”)

There are lots of vegan forums out there, but only the Vegan.FM forum is specially dedicated to dialogue between vegans and non-vegans who are trying to go vegan. Use this space to make suggestions and help people along the way. Or, if you are thinking about going vegan or are already vegan and need some help, just create an account with your Facebook login and ask away.

Tools

There are also some neato gizmos available on the site. Check out the link shortener to promote veganism with every tweet, the official iVegan iPhone app, or the printable material to hand out to your friends.

Got an idea for Vegan.FM? Let me know.
