The title of my site is Life Dreams And More. Therefore, today I will write about Life which includes eating and cooking! I love to cook and bake. Sometimes, what I make is so good, my husband will say, “That’s a keeper.” Unfortunately for him and me, it’s a little bit of that and a little bit of that! How many of you cook that way?
I still use recipes. I heard that the first time you use a recipe, it should be exactly followed. Now with the confidence I’ve gained and not caring if the food isn’t delicious, I’ll experiment the first time out!
I don’t remember where or how I learned to cook or bake. As a child, I always loved to bake. I used to wake up before the rest of the family, bake, clean up and then go back to bed. Maybe it’s genetic as my mother was an excellent cook. I am too!
Over 30 years ago, I enrolled in a gourmet cooking class. My cooking was so good that my ex-husband and I didn’t want to eat out because the food I cooked was better then what we could get in a restaurant!
Fast forward to 2013 – I experiment more. I use a recipe as a guideline. If I don’t like what the food tastes like, the recipe gets thrown out! In our family, we eat chicken, fish, pasta and vegetables. I recently learned about kale. Oh my, it is delicious.
Here’s a recipe:
1 head (I think it’s called a head!) of kale
1 or 2 garlic cloves cut up or grated over the kale
Olive oil – sprinkled over the top
Mix all together. Place on a flat baking pan with an edge. Spray pan with Pam or whatever you like to use. Bake in a 400° oven until crispy. Squeeze fresh lemon juice and salt if desired. It’s almost like eating candy.
Enjoy! Let me know how you enjoyed it or share your own recipe with me. Thanks and happy eating.
