On Wednesday, low pressure will gather strength across the Plains States. A southerly flow ahead of this feature will transport additional moisture and milder air across Ohio on Wednesday. It will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs on Wednesday will reach the mid 50s. Winds S to SE 5-10 mph.
Wednesday night will be cloudy with showers likely. Lows will be in the 40s.
On Thursday, the storm over the Plains will track into the Great Lakes, dragging a cold front eastward across the region during the morning. Rain showers are likely through noon, then a chance of rain or snow showers during the afternoon. Temperatures in the 50s during the morning, will fall during the afternoon.
Looking ahead: A couple of waves of low pressure will ripple northeastward along the front to our south Thursday night through Friday night. Precipitation will spread back across the area Thursday night, likely as rain or a rain/snow mix through the evening, then changing to all snow after midnight. Lows will be around 30.
Snow is likely Friday through Friday night as the waves move by. Highs on Friday will reach the low to mid 30s with lows Friday night around 20.
High pressure is expected to build across the state this weekend. It will be partly cloudy on Saturday with a chance of a few lake effect snow showers across the northeast. Highs will be around 30 degrees.
