A Pope like Francis

One of the striking things about this new pontificate is the "rock star" coverage it is receiving. One has to wonder what is the big deal. There are several factors. I don't think people expected a Hispanic to be elected. Land especially one with such humility.

His propensity for walking and riding buses instead of a limo. And the expression of this humility in choosing the name of Francis, the poor saint.

It is refreshing to hear the Pope speak of wanting a "poor church for the poor". It speaks to a greedy world directly and succinctly. And who isn't for that!
