One of the most anticipated elements of Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida is Gringotts Wizarding Bank. You definitely can't miss it. Just look for the giant dragon perched on top of the building, and don't be surprised if he billows a ball of fire.
Inside is Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, one of two signature rides (the other, of course, is the Hogwarts Express). Although I didn't get to ride the ride, I was able to explore the queue line, see the pre-show, and take the harrowing elevator ride that will transport you to the ride vehicles. Indeed, Gringotts is a real experience from the moment you walk into the bank and encounter the busy goblins whose eyes seem to follow you as you stroll through the impressive chandeliered lobby and make your way toward the vaults.
Click the slideshow accompanying this article for a look inside Gringotts. While you're there, don't forget to have your photo taken so you can get your own official ID badge that gives you access. Then, take in the portraits, newspapers, and other details that transform an ordinary queue line into a richly detailed space with so much to explore. There's also a very well done pre-show; while it might not have snow like the one in Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, it's just as lifelike and the office set itself is full of little details.
Diagon Alley officially opens on July 8, and if all goes well, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts will be running smoothly by then so you can embark on your own adventure. For the full experience, be sure to get a two park ticket so you can also ride the Hogwarts Express. It's another ride where the queue is almost as amazing as the ride itself.
