This weekend is a hot time for spring craft shows in San Diego, both by the number of craft activities as well as the predicted weather. Many organizations are throwing craft fairs for both things to buy and for crafters to sell. Here is a sample of some of the craft shows in the San Diego area for this weekend, March 14-16, 2014. All events are free and open to the public.
There’s a new craft fair in town called the East County Arts and Crafts Fair. They will have their grand opening this weekend, March 15-16 at the Heartland Masonic Center located at 695 Ballantyne Street in El Cajon. They will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. In Borrego Springs, the Circle of Art Show and Sale will take place at Christmas Circle in the small desert town of Borrego Springs. This is a juried fine art show as well as crafts and entertainment. The event lasts the whole weekend, March 15-16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check out their website, www.circle-of-art.org for more information on the exhibitors and to get directions.
At Point Loma High School on Saturday, March 15th, there will be a craft show with over 60 vendors selling different types of items. Proceeds from the Pointers Craft Show go to the Point Loma High School Pointer Association which raises money for students at Point Loma High School. The high school is located at 2335 Chatsworth and the event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In Balboa Park, there will be a big Saint Patrick’s Day Festival that will not only have craft booths and food sales, but other entertainment as well. The craft show begins at 9 a.m. and the parade starts at 10:30 a.m. The musical entertainment starts at 12:45 p.m. The entire event ends at 6 p.m. More information can be found on their website www.stpatsparade.org.
