A packed out weekend of upcoming shows in Orlando

This coming week in Orlando local music, March 17-23, may be a slow week for music news but there are still a ton of great upcoming shows for music fans to choose from.

The notifications went out to many of the Orlando bands that will be showcasing at the 14th annual Florida Music Festival (FMF) coming up April 25-27. The list includes Beemo, Blaine the Mono, Fiery Sushi, Our Future Leaders, The Dealers, Catherine Ridgeway, Rug, Shout London, I-Resolution, Carly Jo Jackson and Plastic Planets. Congratulations on being selected!

There are quite a few celebrations on Monday to celebrate St. Patty’s Day. Live music events include the conclusion of Wall St. Plaza's three day festival as well as special events at Tanqueray’s, Raglan Road and Hagan O’Reilly’s just to name a few.

At The Social on Friday, Orlando band Abandon the Midwest is celebrating the release of their debut EP, “Sacred Stupid.” Also on the bill are Jahnopa, Hair of the Beast and Rushmorefl.

On Friday and Saturday is the UCF Orlando Jazz Festival at the UCF campus. The festival features live music from The UCF All-Star High School Jazztet, The Jazz Professors, Benny Golson and The Flying Horse Big Band, T-Bone, Mitch Stein and Rodney Howard.

Monday, March 17 St. Patty’s Day

Wall Street Plaza - 19 N. Orange Ave. - Wall Street Plaza's three day St. Patty's Day festival culminates in a day long celebration featuring live music from Seven Nations, Off Kilter, The Lighter Exchange and Pipes & Drums. The party starts at noon.

Tanqueray’s - 100 S. Orange Ave. - Live music from Paddington Ambush for this FREE event.

Raglan Road Orlando - 1640 East Buena Vista Dr. - Live music from several bands including U2 tribute band Elevation at 10 p.m. for this 18+ show. There is a $10 cover charge.

The Red Lion Pub - 3784 Howell Branch Road - Twisted Tuesday with Rkind for this 18+ show. This FREE event includes live music and other entertainment as well as a home-cooked meal, with a $2 donation to the Red Lion Community Emergency Fund. The live music starts at 7:30 p.m.

BackBooth - 37 W. Pine St. - Live music from We Butter The Bread With Butter, Lions Lions, Honour Crest, All Gone Grey and Us, Ghosts for this show. The doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10.

The Beacham - 46 N. Orange Ave. - Live music from Carcass, The Black Dahlia Murder, Gorguts, Noisem and Maruta for this 12+ show. The doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $26.50-28.50.
