Deadline is reporting today that Warner Bros. has decided to revisit the classic H.G. Wells novel "The Island of Dr. Moreau."
With six film adaptations in the past (the most recent being the terrible 1996 film with Val Kilmer) it isn't surprising that WB is looking to use today's special effects, and creative writing, to re-imagine this property for a new generation.
Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy ("Hemlock Groves") have been hired to pen the adaptation, and Leonardo DiCaprio's production company Appian Way will see it completed.
Look for the story of animals turned into humans to hit theaters in 2016.
