The upcoming sci-fi thriller starring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace first called Lock-Out, but perhaps now called MS One: Maximum Security (as called overseas), has a new trailer (in French). The film is written by James Mather, Stephen St. Leger, and Luc Besson (who is also producing). It is directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger.
In the film, Guy Pearce plays a falsely convicted government agent who is offered freedom if he can rescue the President's daughter from a prison in space which has been overtaken by its prisoners.
In the trailer, Guy Pearce is unusually given a tough guy's leading role with a plethora of snarky one-liners. The sets in the trailer look impressive akin to hallways from Halo, complete with cutscenes of space battles, explosions, and people falling through shafts like Emperor Palpatine.
In general, the film appears to be a cross between Escape From New York and Die Hard in space, which may not be a bad thing for the Summer popcorn crowd. To add, sci-fi fans may be pleased to see Luc Besson, director of 1997's The Fifth Element, being involved in a pulpy sci-fi project once again.
Directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger, Lock-Out (MS One: Maximum Security), starring Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, Vincent Regan, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte, and Nick Hardin comes to Orange County theaters on April 20th, 2012.
