Lenise Ligon of WALA-TV recently started using the phrase, "We're just getting started on your leading prime-time newscast" on a regular basis for her station's local 9:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") while promoting reports the station had planned on broadcasting later in the editions of the program with her in the position of news presenter.
She and Bob Grip, her regular partner in presenting news for the 9:00 p.m. news program, used to say phrases such as, "We're just getting started on your only local prime-time newscast" and, "We're just getting started on your only local news at 9:00" on a regular basis for the same purpose as the new phrase. The reason they stopped doing so is due to WFGX-TV having broadcast a local news program of its own at 9:00 p.m. on a regular basis since August (Bob Grip was able to use one of the phrases again during the 9:00 p.m. news program WALA-TV produced on Thursday, August 17th, while WFGX-TV was broadcasting local baseball programming).
