A new Pokemon has been revealed for ‘Pokemon X and Y’

According to the website Serebii.net, a new Pokemon has been announced. This Pokemon is currently unnamed; however, it has a striking resemblance to a very well-known Pokemon from the first Generation of Pokemon: Mewtwo. This news comes on April 6, 2013, and was originally revealed on the Japanese variety show, Pokemon Smash. This new Pokemon seems set to debut in the next Pokemon movie, and will be available to players when “Pokemon X and Y” release in October 2013. It is possible that this new Pokemon is a new form for Mewtwo, as the Pokemon developers have been adding a lot of new forms for old Pokemon in recent games. As such, the information that follows will pertain to Mewtwo, as most rumors are pointing to the new Pokemon being a new form of him.

Mewtwo is widely known as the most powerful Pokemon in existence, and in many ways it still is (the only Pokemon that truly gives him much competition is Arceus). His offensive capabilities are vast and his defenses keep him alive for a long time. He has a wide variety of moves to choose from, ranging from all-out attacking moves to moves that can support his team. This is the primary reason why he (along with many other legendary Pokemon) is banned from official competitions.

Mewtwo also had a one-time appearance in the “Super Smash Bros.” franchise. In the second game in the series, “Super Smash Bros. Melee,” he was a playable fighter. His unlock requirements were unique in that he was the only character who could only be unlocked by playing multiplayer matches. When fighting, Mewtwo used his psychic abilities in tandem with physical attacks to devastate his opponents. He was one of the faster fighters, though his movements and the timing on his attacks took some getting used to.
