A New Photo of a Humanoid Drone for ROBOCOP arrives! (Photos)

A new photo from the upcoming Robocop remake has arrived online, which shows a robot drone called "EM-208"--the first version of a Robocop humanoid drone.

Directed by Jose Padilha (Elite Squad), the remake stars Joel Kinnaman (Safe House), Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

Here is the synopsis: In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

The original 1987 film about a cop resurrected as a cyborg in the dystopian, futuristic Detroit starred Peter Weller and spawned two sequels. The film's Dutch director Paul Verhoven went on to direct other sci-fi films such as Total Recall and Starship Troopers.

The current film has been plagued with criticism regarding the screenplay, the new Robocop armor, and perhaps just for the simple fact that it is a reboot.

Robocop comes to Orange County theaters on February 7th, 2014.
