This month kicks off a new concert series at The West End Trading Company from Orlandobands.com featuring local Orlando bands playing alongside other Central Florida bands. This series will be monthly, FREE shows and all ages.
The first show will be January 19 with local Orlando bands Cold War Relic, Eleven29, Harbor Point, Detoura Acoustic, Groove Trunk and Andy Starkey playing with Tampa band Dirty Black Halo and Melbourne’s Lit Up. Groove Trunk is an Orlando based jam band featuring some well-known members of the local music scene. “Groove Trunk is rooted in heavy blues, but we’re also a combination of funk and rock,” said Groove Trunk’s bassist Jeff Ward. “We’re all good pals that have a common love for the jam.”
These shows are sponsored by Orlandobands.com, Chris Godkin RE/MAX Town Centre, Evermore Sound and the Connecticut School of Broadcast. Orlandobands.com has a pivotal role in Orlando local music, providing promotional services to help educate and motivate local music. “Ben was getting Orlandobands.com started back when I first opened my studio,” said Jeff Ward. “It’s awesome to see that he’s hung on through the years and what he’s accomplishing with it. We’re excited to be a part of the first show.”
The first show is January 19 at The West End Trading Company, 202 South Sanford Ave. in Sanford. The doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is FREE for this all ages show.
