A new look for Lowcountry Africana website

See also

The website Lowcountry Africana, focusing on African American genealogy in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, has recently debuted a sharp new look.

The site originally debuted in 2008, and has been named among Family Tree Magazine's "101 Best Web Sites" in 2008 and 2010.

In addition to informative articles and several blogs (including one on "Research Methods" written by the author of the African American Genealogy Examiner, Michael Hait), Lowcountry Africana also contains actual record images, at no cost, including all of the microfilmed Freedmen's Bureau Field Office records for the South Carolina lowcountry offices and the Savannah, Georgia, office.
