BINGHAMTON, NY -- Renovations on what used to be Jed's Roadhouse have transformed the building into The Hideout, a new restaurant, bar and nightclub.
"I best describe this place as similar to the House of Blues," general manager Steve Braunstein told the Press & Sun-Bulletin. "It's going to be great live music and great food."
The new operation is located at 596 Court Street, near Rocket Plaza.
Braunstein also likened The Hideout's menu to the fare offered at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse and its satellite operations.
The menu includes pulled pork, various homemade recipes for dry rub Memphis-style ribs cooked in two wood smokers using a mix of regional hardwoods, plus beer on tap along with microbrews and other bottled beers
NOTES ON NAPKINS: The Hideout's grand opening is set for 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday, September 12, with music acts Randy Jackson of Zebra, Randy McStine Band, Smokehouse Blues and The Reddan Brothers. Doors will open at 4 p.m., with the live entertainment beginning at 7. The cover charge will be $5. ... The establishment will have a live piano bar nightly, plus karaoke some nights, and pool tables and large, flat-screen TVs. Current hours: 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 4 p.m. to to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday. It will be closed Sundays until Sept. 13. It then will expand its Saturday hours to noon to 3 a.m. and add Sunday hours, from noon to 10 p.m.
