Friday brought news of Tanai D. Fortman, 32, of Springboro, Ohio being sentenced to 15 years in prison for “rape and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor”.
She had been indicted back in July on 16 counts of rape; gross sexual imposition and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and held on a $75,000 bond at the Warren County jail.
Her boyfriend had turned her in to authorities by calling 911.
He had apparently believed she had been cheating on him so he went through her phone where he found, instead of another man's texts, videos of her with a 4 year-old little girl in sexually explicit positions.
And thus began the excuses.
Fortman can remember enough of the situation to explain “working for an online sexting company” according to WCPO out of Cincinnati but she can’t remember actually doing what she did because she had digested a large amount of weight-loss pills.
Of course it begs more than a couple questions, besides how many other children she hurt to the point where they will need extensive therapy but, also her chosen excuse.

Just what do excessive amounts of diet pills do to a person?
An answer at Medicalquestions.com supplied this:
- An overdose will have different side effects based on the specific pill, but some common indicators would be:
- loss of life,
- vomiting and nausea,
- violent behavior,
- rapid breathing,
- tremors or shakiness,
- hallucinations, seizures
A side comment was also “heart attack or stroke” but nothing about being rendered unconscious and recording “five 30 second” (as if one wouldn’t have been enough) video clips of yourself raping a child.
There have been leaps and bounds made in the scientific community regarding medical and psychological issues and comprehensive help can be had for those with personality disorders, drug and alcohol issues or; for those who have environmental issues like having had to deal with entire-life and extremely violent family affairs.
In this case, though, a reasonable person has to believe one of these has to be the main reason this woman chose to use this little girl in such a manner because, to assume otherwise; those who take excessive amounts of diet pills are on the cusp of committing atrocities against our innocent in troubling numbers and we had better be on the watch.
With that being said, those with severely diminished mental capacity are actually few and far between and one can only hope Fortman “remembers” enough particulars about the online “company” she had been working for so the feds can put a stop to it.
It would be a leap in her getting the right help that she needs so that when she gets out, she won't be hurting anyone else.
