When players first joined Lara Croft on her worldwide jaunts in search of adventure and ancient treasure, she was already an experienced explorer who thrived on leaping into the unknown. Her escapades into deep caverns and long forgotten ruins rivaled the exploits of legendary heroes and marked Lara Croft as one of the most enduring video game characters ever. The latest addition to the Tomb Raider franchise aims to reveal another side of the tomb raider.
Lara Croft was not always the confident and resourceful action heroine who overcame ever obstacle with athletic ability and intelligence. At one time in her life, she was just a university graduate who dreamed of adventure and leapt at the first opportunity to leave her mark on the world. Unfortunately, her first job came with dangers far beyond her imagination.
Lara Croft is woefully unprepared when her ship is sunk by a storm just off of a remote island. She awakes injured, lost, and separated from the rest of the crew. As she begins searching the island for her colleagues, she is hunted by the island’s inhabitants and beset by natural hazards at every turn. She finally found the adventure that she always wanted, but her dreams have become a desperate struggle for survival.
