Variety is reporting that Alan Taylor ("Thor: The Dark World"), famous for directing episodes of the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones," is in final negotiations to helm the new film which will jump start a new trilogy.
Hopefully with him involved the producers will stick with an R-rating, and give fans what they crave: Death and Destruction.
Laeta Kalorgridis ("Avatar" and "Shutter Island") and Patrick Lussier ("Drive Angry") are attached to write the screenplay which means it could go either way.
I really like the idea of having someone that can tell an amazing story, choreograph great action scenes, and drag depth and emotion out of actors behind the camera.
