I'm taking a break from hotels to bring you San Francisco cuisine news! I've written this piece for Visit California to be published later this month. Here's a sneak peek and a must-read if you'll be visiting California in the near future.
If you’re familiar with the gastropub scene in the Tenderloin and Theater Districts of San Francisco, you’ve heard of Jasper’s Corner Tap and Kitchen. Jasper’s has long been a laid-back favorite of locals for some time, but this summer, it’s turning a corner at top speed. With a no-holds-barred launch of what the bar is calling “a whole new velocity for Jasper’s,” frequenters will enjoy more than signature drinks and crazy good beer, they’ll be treated to pajama parties, Brewmaster dinners, sports-themed extravaganzas, live music from up-and-coming local artists, and so much more.
For food lovers who take the term “delicious” seriously, Jasper’s legendary American comfort food menu with a trendy twist has just been re-built by brand new Head Chef Taylor Smith. Chef Taylor has stayed true to the restaurant’s casual foundation, but added in his own philosophy. In a recent interview, Chef Taylor explained, “The southern cuisine of my childhood always permeates my thinking. The innovation of modern Provencal French cookery constantly pushes me to explore new ideas – to fuse cultures and create true California comfort food.” His talents, paired with the new Mixologist’s (Steve Middler of Hakkasan San Francisco fame) are bound to turn some heads – even yours.
