Two bits of news regarding the American Cup today: First, the men's roster will be rounded out by Ukrainian Oleg Verniaiev, who will join teammate Mykola Kuksenkov in Madison Square Garden March 3 and double his country's chances at walking out with the American Cup title (remember that Kuksenkov was second to Jonathan Horton last year.)
The Ukrainians have been airing their best and brightest recently. Vernaiev had a nice meet at the London Test Event earlier this month and is an emerging young all-around star for Ukraine. The nation has a small but mighty national team with several Olympic medal contenders, including Kuksenkov and supervaulter Igor Radivilov. He makes a good men's competition that much better.
