Mother's Day is intended to celebrate moms. But how do we define moms?
Moms are people who take care of their babies of all ages. They make sure their children are never hungry or thirsty. They cover them when they get cold. They protect them and keep them safe from harm. They cuddle with their children when they get sick or scared, and shower them with love. They take them to the doctor when they seem out of sorts.
Moms sacrifice all the time, money, and energy they have to make sure their children are healthy, happy, and comfortable. Their love for their children is unconditional and everlasting.
Moms do these things for their human babies, sure - but also for their pets.
From the moment we bring pets into our lives, we commit to loving, caring, and treating them well for the rest of their lives. The love moms get from their pets is as real and important as the love they get from their children.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there - no matter how many legs your children have.
