A Mother’s love flows from a special place in God

Love your mother

“Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother.” John 19:25a

God manifested His perfect love in the form of both a father and a mother. The way a father loves a child cannot be replicated or met by a mother; and likewise, the love of a mother cannot be replaced or satisfied in any other way by a father. As children, this is why God’s plan was to give us both a father and a mother. And on this special weekend, we honor our mothers.

The love of a mother is unique, because it flows from a special place in God used specifically to create her. And when Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Son of man, was laid bare and hanging between Heaven and earth on that Cross, beaten and bruised, it was His mother who endured for her Son at the foot of the Cross.

Mary, the mother of God, was at the foot of the Cross because her Son needed her to be there for Him. Jesus needed to be able to look into His mother’s eyes so He would know that everything was going to be okay. The love in His mother’s eyes helped give Him the strength He needed to endure the Cross. At this monumental moment, Jesus needed His mother. And she was right there. Despite the pain of seeing her Baby Boy stretched out before the entire world, Mary put aside her pain and was who she needed to be for her Son. She pressed through her pain, so that her love could sustain her beloved child.

A righteous mother is cut from no other cloth than God’s selfless, loving, and humble nature. I know this first-hand, because I am truly blessed to have such a mother. I thank God for my mom, as she loves all of her children with such an amazing, rich, and selfless love. My mother is lowly in heart, like Christ; she put her children and their needs first, like Jesus put the world first; and she would without question, lay down her life for any of her sons and daughter, just like the Son of God and Son of man willingly laid down His life for every person in the world—past, present, and future. A righteous mother is a gift from God, because she is made from the love of God; and this love in the form of Jesus Christ, lives within and emanates from her.

The Hands of God bear witness to the essence used in making a mother: “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a).

God’s intent was and is for every person to be blessed with a righteous mother, and to be enriched by a mother’s love. The Father’s intent concerning the role and importance of a mother is the same yesterday, today, and forever. For those sons and daughters who were robbed of a mother’s love, please know that this was not God’s will for you, and your Heavenly Father is truly saddened and sorry. Your Holy Father wants to make it up to you, so please allow Him to restore that which was taken from you—either through reconciliation of an earthly mother, or by adoption of a spiritual mother.

And for those of you, like me, who are supremely blessed with an amazing mother, let us honor her, adore her, and bless her this day. To all the mothers out there: Happy Mother’s Day! And to my mom: I love you with all that I am, Mom, and I thank you for your amazing love that never fails.

Father, thank You for giving us our mothers. Father of all mothers, we ask You to bestow a special blessing upon each and every mother on this special day set aside just for her and to honor her. We call upon You for a release of Your Spirit of Reconciliation upon every mother-son and mother-daughter relationship that needs to be repaired and made whole, so nothing is left missing or broken. In Jesus Name, we thank You for our mothers, not just on this special day, but every day. Amen and Amen.

Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to love your mother with the everlasting love of God. Choose to honor your mother on this special day and every day. And continue to fight the good fight of being who the Father of all mothers called you to be for your mother; for God, your Mother’s Day Gift, has already given you the victory!

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

God tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Be a blessing to someone by sending them this word of encouragement. If God did not already put someone in your spirit and on your heart that needs to read this uplifting message from above, simply ask your Heavenly Father who to bless on today. Forward this message right now by email, facebook, or twitter.

Jesus is coming soon!

May God Bless you and keep you always.

With warmest regards,

And, in service of The Most High King,
