This is a story about a mother named Teresa. She is 97 years old or young whichever she prefers. She was born in Houston, Texas but she grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
She worked in a restaurant called Sally’s Café who her sister owned and operated. Her sister is now 95 and still owns and operates the café. Teresa also met her husband there while he was in the Air Force in World War II.
This is how she ended up in Louisville, Kentucky since her husband was from there. She went on to raise 3 sons and 1 daughter named Lucy who is one of my dearest friends. Teresa did not work anymore after she married.
She devoted her life to her children and husband. She lost her husband in the eighties and she continued on with life as a mother would. She also has 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren that keep her busy.
She has lived in the same house that she lived in when her husband was alive. Her son is living with her now to keep her company. It just goes to show us that it doesn’t matter what age we are as long as we stay young at heart.
