Well, we certainly surpassed the average high of 62! We hit 79 this afternoon at Philly International Airport(after a low of 53)! NO METEOROLOGIST thought that a southerly wind would have acted like a block to prevent the clouds and rain associated with the cold front from pushing into the region! I knew we would reach 70, but 80 was a looonnng stretch.
With that in mind we did cloud up in the late afternoon and overnight we'll have light rain with lows in lower 50s. The cold front pushes through before sunrise and the clouds shortly thereafter; this will set us up with an amazing Saturday with highs close to 70 with a light westerly wind. Come Sunday highs will be in the middle 70s with a southerly wind!
We'll make a crack toward 80 again come Monday with a continued southerly wind, but scale it back a few degrees come Tuesday ahead of a cold front that will push through overnight into Wednesday; this will send temperatures back BELOW average once again(into the 50s).
