A Mild Start To The New Work Week

After some light rain early Sunday morning(that amounted to just 0.01") AND a high temperature of 52 at Philly International(at 1:22am) we tried to scour out the clouds throughout the day with little success; temperatures dropped through the 40s by sunrise, but recovered into the middle 40s before sunset.

Overnight it will be clear and seasonably cool with lows in the upper 20s; as high pressure is firmly in place on top of us this will lead to a sunny Monday with highs in the middle 50s and a light south wind! You know it won't last of course...

And so overnight Monday clouds move in ahead of a cold front to the west AND an area of low pressure moving in from the south; rain will hold off until early Tuesday morning and can be heavy at times before the systems push offshore and temperatures drop through the 40s and into the upper 30s by nightfall.

There will be yet another system late Wednesday night, but not before we reach the middle and upper 40s during the day; it's a weak clipper system that transfers its energy to a low just offshore and as temperatures will be hovering right around freezing there could be a light accumulation of show the further east you go of the city(across New Jersey), BUT it's all dependent on the low's track AND what the temperature winds up being Thursday morning. It's gone by the afternoon, but highs just hold into the 30s.
