Come to Whitewater. Can you imagine a vortex just miles from Palm Springs with a very long river of running water, hiking trails, mountain views, and access to the PCT trail to go to Canada or Mexico. It is also quite normal to see Big Horn Sheep on the rock cliff. There are ponds of fish to look at and one can camp free for three days at a time.
Not only can you experience such an amazing natural world, you can also partake in A Matter of Taste, an Art Festival and Sale on April, 14th, 10am- 4:30pm. It is free on Saturday, but on Sunday, from 3pm-7pm, there is an art auction of donated pieces from all of the artists on Saturday and more. Tickets for this day are $30. All proceeds go to The Wildlands Conservancy in order to preserve natural spaces and keep them free and open to the public for education and recreation.
On Saturday, there will be free arts and crafts for all ages. There will be live music on both days, food available for purchase on Saturday and included on Sunday with the purchase of ticket. To purchase tickets go to www.WildandConservancy.org or call 909)797-8507.
Be sure to check out the calendar of hikes and volunteer opportunities while you are there. What a great idea to teach your children about nature and interacting with others by volunteering in nature.
