A man named "Fang"

Everyone appreciates a good set of fangs. When one thinks of fangs, the first thing that comes to mind is vampires - especially if you're a regular reader of this column. If you grew up listening to music in the sixties, however, or if you perused the teen magazines of the time, you may have been familiar with a completely different "fang": Mr. Phil "Fang" Volk.

This "Fang" was not only an original member of the legendary 60s pop rock band Paul Revere & The Raiders, he was also voted one of the top bass players (after Paul McCartney) in Playboy Magazine's annual poll, a TV star ("Where The Action Is"), and he was a teen heartthrob who graced countless copies of such magazines as 16 and Teen Beat.

In 2010, Phil "Fang" Volk was one of the special guests at "ROCK CON: Weekend of 100 Rock Stars," where he literally stole the show rocking the audience every chance he got. He's a great guy, and thanks to his friend and manager, Rolf Laws, we were able to get him to compile a Top 10 List for Horror Happenings. It took a year and a half to get, but it's obvious that Volk took a lot of time put a great deal of thought behind his list and reasons for each choice.

Fang's Family & Friends show will be appearing at the Aquarius Hotel Casino, in Laughlin, NV on December 31st, 2011 for a New Years Eve gala concert celebration in their Pavillion ballroom. This is a private VIP by-invitation-only event.

Fang has released a new single, an incredible rockin' remake of Bob Dylan's classic "The Times They Are A Changin'," re-imagined for today's world of turmoil. The song is available at most internet outlets including Phil's personal website: www.PhilFangVolk.com.
