Who likes to bowl? I know I'm not the biggest fan of the sport and it probably has something to do with the fact that I am no good at it! Last week the boy and I went bowling with another couple and my highest score out of 3 games was... sadly, 80. But, hey at least I had fun doing it! Lucky Strike Lanes is the name and bowling is the game! It's a fun, low key date and it is perfect for a group outing!
What I like most about Lucky Strike is it's atmosphere. It's a much more hip and trendy feel than what you're used to at your typical bowling alley. Plus, the LA locations can't be beat! With one alley in the heart of Hollywood at 6801 Hollywood Blvd and the other in the up-and-coming LA LIVE area at 800 W. Olympic Blvd, the surrounding areas provide you with lots of entertainment for after the game! They also have lanes in Orange and Torrance but honestly, who wants to leave LA county to bowl? Any takers?
The hours of operation between the Lucky Strike Lanes vary, but normally run between the early afternoon hours and close at 2:00 AM. For a list of the Lucky Strike hours closest to you, please click: http://www.bowlluckystrike.com/locations/.
Besides the atmosphere, Lucky Strike is unique, as it has a dress code. I know! I know! It sounds so "Hollywood Glam" but it's not what it sounds like! Just don't wear a pair of sweats and baggy clothing, and you'll be fine. For a list of the "rules," please click: http://www.bowlluckystrike.com/dress_code/.
There's no admission fee to get in to socialize and eat and drink at the bar. If you want to play (and let's face it, you're in a bowling alley, so you might as well play) the cost is $6.95 per person Sunday through Thursday and $7.95 per person on Friday and Saturday. There is also a $4.25 fee for the shoes.
The food is also really good! Each night, Lucky Strike has a "Lucky Hour" at the bar from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. If you want to catch some other drink specials, weeknights seem to be the nights to go. For a list of the Lucky Strike specials, please go to their website and click on the "calendar of events" section of the Lucky Strike Bowling Alley of your choice.
Now forget about your Nintendo Wii bowling for just one night and head on out into the bowling nightlife that is, Lucky Strike! It's fun, it's different and who knows, you may even get lucky afterward. :)
