With all of the hype about multibillion dollar social networking new issues for Facebook and Twitter, and new highs on Wall Street, many people would think the economy must be on the way to a strong recovery. However, a lot of Americans who were hit hard by the economic slump have been left out of the recovery and are feeling the pain of their situation now. Many Americans do not feel the economy is improving, reports CNN Money on Dec. 27, 2013.
In spite of a great deal of positive economic news recently, many Americans say they aren't feeling any of the improvements. A new CNN/ORC poll which was released on Friday showed a lot of people were pessimistic that the economy was improving. A large percent of people said the economy is generally in poor shape.
Almost 70 percent of Americans view the economy as being weak, reports Money News. There have been a number of strong economic indicators recently which have made experts a lot more enthusiastic about economic growth for 2014. However, the average man on the street apparently doesn't feel this same enthusiasm. With more than half of Americans polled saying they believe the economy will stay in bad shape a year from now, it appears almost as if the country has been in something bordering on a depression for a long time.
