The story of "The Furry Collar," is a pretty creepy and gruesome story. It deals with being alone and vulnerable. It's an unnerving story that has even been in a Alfred Hitchcock episode. So let's explore the lore of this gruesome tale.
The legend:
So basically it deals with two girls staying home alone and while it's storming out, their electricity goes out. The girls decide to go to bed and while they are in bed, they hear a creepy noise. So one of the girl's decides to investigate and before she left the room she puts on her robe which has a furry collar. After awhile her friend doesn't come back the second girl is afraid. She waits and waits but then she does hear a noise. She decides to know who it is she'll go out and touch them. If she feels the furry collar, she'll know it's her friend.
Now when the presence came closer the girl goes out and feels, she is relieved because she feels the furry collar but when she moves her hand higher, she just feels a bloody stump of where friend's head use to be.
The origins:
Alfred Hitchcock had the same presence for one of the Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes which was called "Gentleman from America." That dealt with two sisters being alone and a crazy man is on the loose. The braver sister goes out but when she comes back, her sister feels just a bloody stump. Also In 1972, in a book of urban legends the story is in there.
