A look at the new Mardi Gras Floats at Universal Orlando's Mardi Gras

The Jester Float
The Jester Float

Guests who visit Universal Studios Florida at Universal Orlando Resort now through May 31st on select dates can catch beads by the handfuls, enjoy a live concert, and experience Cajun food. Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Florida is a huge event that lives up to the Mardi Gras tradition. Universal Orlando does it big with big beautiful floats, beads, traditional Cajun food, and of course - live music!

Every year, Universal Studios Florida creates brand new floats and retires some of their older ones in their Mardi Gras Parade. This year is no exception. This year's float theme is "Around the World in 80 Days". There are a total of three brand new floats that fit this theme, plus Universal Orlando gave a complete make-over to one of their traditional floats - The Jester.

This year's new floats are themed to Land, Air, and Water.

The Jester float is considered one of Universal Orlando's traditional floats like the Riverboat and Gator float. Universal Orlando doesn't re-do traditional floats very often, but they felt The Jester Float was in need of a makeover. The Jester Float now headlines the Mardi Gras parade and looks fabulous. It really sets the tone for the entire parade with it's sheer size and color.

Check out the photos of the new floats and some of the new costumes for this year's Mardi Gras Parade at Universal Studios Florida.
