A look at the fall 2010 luxury footwear collection by Carmen Steffens

Los Angelenos love luxury and exclusivity, so Carmen Steffens is a natural addition to the retail landscape. The Brazilian-based footwear and handbag company only has one store in the U.S., located at the Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks. The handcrafted accessories are handmade in trendy silhouettes using soft leather, sterling silver and gold accents, and an attention to comfort as well as aesthetic details. Despite the sky-high stilettos, customers swear that the shoes are easy to wear and stand in for hours.

Footwear looks for fall include simple black and brown knee-high boots, patent-leather black stilettos, neutral platform pumps and red sandals with metallic accents. A few animal print selections--zebra and leopard--were also scattered around the store. Handbags are large with heavy metal logo plates, zippers, chains and other accents. Click through the slideshow below to see what's in the store. But if you see something you like, buy it soon--most of the shoes only come one per size, so once it's gone, it's gone. Most items are under $1000, which is a low price to pay for the security of knowing that no one else at the party will be wearing your shoes. Well, no one else in your size, anyway.
