The 7th Annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival is almost upon us. As Des Moines food vendors and foodies gear up for the thousands of pounds of bacon that will be prepared and consumed, music lovers are also preparing for this year's festival. BaconFest 2014: Viva Las Bacon will spread out over three buildings and have three different areas where baconed-up patrons can get their groove on. The 2014 festival will take place in the Elwell, Building, Varied Industries Building, and the Jacobson Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Des Moines' east side on Saturday, February 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. As always, tickets are sold out—12,000 tickets disappeared in just 42 minutes.
