Italy is a place full of history and beauty but like any place it has it's ghosts. So here's a look at some of the places that are haunted according to local legend or just from real experiences.
In the Pensione Burchianti, a room where Mussolini once stayed there was a sighting of a small, translucent, pinkish male ghost. People also have reported seeing a ghost of a child who wanders the hall and a ghostly maid. Another odd ghost is of a old woman who sits in a rocking chair.
The ancient city of Pompeii is a really a no wonder on why it's haunted. This place was basically massacred by a volcano and a lot of lives were lost. So many have reported hearing screams of the unrest and seeing creepy shadows.
The Lucedio Monastery is haunted by monks and many have heard footsteps of them walking and have seen apparitions of them. Also according to some, people were sacrificed there and their restless spirits haunt the area.
In Calabria in the mountains, people have reported seeing a white light glowing at night. Also they have seen a very pale woman wearing a white dress who disappears all the time at 12 a.m.
Island of No Return is a strange name indeed and it's not surprising that it would have some creepy activity happening in the area. The sounds of voices, footsteps, and just evil is known to inhabit the island. Many locals will not go there!
It is not surprising that the Colosseum would be haunted because of its history. Noises of swords, horses, ghostly chariots are all around. It also has been reported that a woman who was leaving the area was pulled back by a ghostly presence.
So that's just some of the places in Italy that have some spooky things happening in their area.
