Certainly as a past Muslim Students' Association board member and committed Muslim activist on campus, I can sadly relate to CAIR's sentiment when they ask, "Are Muslims condemning terror to the deaf?"
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has consistently and persistently condemned terrorism and the killing of innocent civilians. CAIR has also organized fatwas, petition drives, placed advertisements in national and local newspapers, ran public service announcements on television and radio stations, helped local Mosques across the United States in holding open houses, published Op-Eds in local and national newspapers, conducted inter-faith meetings and worked with scholars to disseminate the peaceful teachings of Islam. -from the CAIR anti-terrorism page

This is the result of inaccurate reporting and misleading footage.

People would be more inclined to listen if CAIR were sincere. But CAIR is only playing word games designed to polish Islam's rightly tarnished image. CAIR's condemnations are only in general, never specifically aimed at terrorist acts by Moslems and Islamic organizaations. CAIR never condemns Hamas, for example, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by America and Europe and others. CAIR never shows how Moslem terrorists misinterpret passages from the Koran and Hadith in order to justify their terrorist acts. In fact, CAIR never even hints that there is anything at all about Islamic doctrines which might motivate and inspire the Moslem terrorists. Especially after the publication of the book, Muslim Mafia, many people know that CAIR is an extremist, Islamist organization allied with the terrorists, part of the Muslim Brotherhood's plan to undermine America. More and more people recognize that CAIR is a traitorous criminal conspiracy.
Craig, you list no evidence for your words. You mention no incidents or personal experiences where you have found this to be the case.
I'm almost certain that you've never been to a CAIR event in the Ypsi-Arbor area, because I often hear the contrary to what you claim they don't say.
I recommend you follow the public blog of the CAIR-MI director closely in addition to subscribing to as many 'Muslim/Islamic Examiners' as you can.
In short though, you are incorrect. You are an outsider looking in occasionally and then claiming you have the complete inside knowledge. A simple visit to your CAIR website will refute at least two of your claims off the bat.
