A little Chaos is a spicy change of pace

The word “chaos” might be defined as “disorder and confusion.” In the case of Chaos Night Club, however, it is a carefully orchestrated plan of entertainment carried out to the smallest details. And it’s just a short drive for Johnstowners ready for a change in venue with some new sights, sounds, and faces.

Salsa’s Mexican Grille opened at the former Arena Restaurant location on Business Route 220 in Bedford, Penna. in 2012. Since that time, Owner and General Manager, Armando Saldana has continued to spice up the area with a variety of innovative special events. He’s delivered comedy, Salsa dancing, holiday parties, music, and more. Salsa’s latest creation is Chaos Night Club, managed by Sabrina Saldana.

If you remember the very proper, dark toned banquet area of the Arena, you are in for peppery surprise at its transformation. Chaos now plays host to the under 21 crowd one Thursday a month, June through August, from 8:00 until 11:00 p.m. with local and guest DJs.

But they really turn up the heat on weekends. Every Friday and Saturday night until 2:00 a.m. you’ll find Chaos packed with 20-somethings and well beyond. Salsa’s varied menu of traditional and south-of-the border appetizers and dinners is available to start your evening. Of course, Chaos also has a tavern-favorites menu with a little extra kick, carried right to your table at the Club.

How many times have you walked into a Johnstown establishment on a band night and asked for their beverage specials only to hear, “Sorry, we don’t have drink specials on weekends. Regular prices only. . .” Chaos turns that idea on its nalgas with wallet-pleasing drink prices (think icy $12 domestic beer buckets, $14 for imports, $10 Captain-n-Coke pitchers, $4 mixed drinks, and $3 shots) that put Cambria County fees to shame and easily cover the cost of a road trip for a night out. Only a canalla would suggest that they compromise size or content – glasses are large, liquor is good quality, and drinks are stiff. Regular cover charge is fair, too, with saving incentives for those who participate in the premise of the night, like cowboy country or glamorous masquerade.

So, now your belly is full of sazonada, and there’s a dewy cóctel in your hand. What to expect on the entertainment front? The unexpected!

Never understaffed, you’re queued into Chaos quickly from the main entrance. Chaos brings big-stage, good and loud rock to the area with bands like Level and FBI recently featured. There’s an ample stage at the front of the large, acoustically agreeable room, and a sizable dance floor. To the rear is plenty of seating, and a well-lit pool table that always seems to be busy. To keep guests cool as the dancing heats up there’s a secondary bar situated close by, and lots of attractive, bustling servers.

Food, drinks, music, dancing, billiards . . . still haven’t found your weekend groove? Chaos is sure to throw in a few surprises like a professional mechanical bull concession from The Bull Guys, or Hollywood quality face painting from Jessica Benton of Serafina Faces.

The establishment is non smoking, with designated areas outside, near the door. There is an extensive paved parking lot, and the location is easy to find, just off of the Bedford Exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Chaos Night Club may be the best kept secret in the tri-county area, but that’s sure to change fast as word spreads of Sabrina’s easy going hospitality and energetic ideas.
