As far as you enjoy creating your own floral design and appreciating it yourself as a hobby, it does not matter how other people evaluate your arrangements. Regardless of the “score” of evaluation made by people who view your floral decorations, it will not affect your output and income level. However once you do it for your business, the story is totally different. Even if you are satisfied yourself with your floral designs, if people surrounding you do not give you good evaluation about your floral decorations or arrangements, you cannot expect to expand your business and it may be difficult to get repeat orders from your customers.
No matter what kind of floral business you are engaged in, floral designing, wedding floral decorations , running your own floral shop or teaching flower arrangements by offering lessons, the evaluation about your performance is done by your customers who may be a client purchasing your flower arrangements or placing orders for wedding decorations or students taking flower arranging lessons. And depending upon such evaluation, your future business will be getting better or worse. This is clearly shown by increase or decrease in number of clients or amount of sales.
There are a few factors which affect your business performance, such as skill, knowledge, price and quality of your “product” or services that could be cut flowers or designed floral arrangements, delivery speed or your attitude for taking care of your clients etc etc.
As a floral arrangement instructor, I cannot but pay special attention to quality of flower arrangements.
Quite frankly speaking there are lots of active floral shop owners and flower decorators who have not got official flower designing educations. These people must be pretty good when it comes to taking care of clients, satisfying customers in delivery speed or procuring flowers at pretty competitive prices. And such talent greatly helps them stay a step ahead of the competition even if they may be lacking a good skill of making decent floral decorations.
What will happen if they have a very good skill of flower designing ? Needless to say they will have a tremendous advantage against their competitors. As a matter of fact, from time to time our floral design school is approached by a prospective student who are already engaged in floral business but have no previous experiences in floral arranging. They may think about improving their flower arranging skills in order to offer better services to their customers. Or they have not yet engaged in the business of wedding floral decorations which represents a very high percentage in the floral designing business.
Those people do have plenty of experiences in floral business. Therefore even if they have not taken any official lessons of floral decorations, they have minimum requiredl skills or techniques in floral arrangements.
Once they take official floral design lessons and get a little advice, it will sometimes make a big difference and they can remarkably improve their arranging skills. No matter what kind of skill or technique we talk about, a little advice from an expert or professional often makes a big improvement.
Take swimming or speaking foreign language for instance, a little advice by a professional instructor often makes remarkable improvements in students’ performance.
If you are already engaged in floral business but have not taken any official flower arranging lessons or if you feel you have not got sufficient training from a well experienced instructor, we can help.
