A light-hearted zombie comedy romance tops the movies hitting theaters this week

Yes, you read that headline right. You just never know what is going to hit the theaters this time of year as Hollywood struggles to keep people coming into the theater, while holding back the big-named and big-deal movies that they want to serve up for late spring and early summer. However, February is here and that means it is time to roll out the romance movies, even if this particular romance involves the undead and brain-eating.

Here are the movies coming out February 1, 2013:

Warm Bodies - Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich. Yes, the umpteenth movie in the zombie genre, but this one is told from the point of view of one of the zombies. A young man who happens to be one of the undead, with a craving for human flesh, and whose name is R discovers that all of his humanity may not be entirely gone when he meets a beautiful young woman. In fact, he saves her from being devoured by other zombies. There’s just one problem and that is that her father is in charge of the wing of military given the task of wiping out all of the undead, even those who appear to be showing feelings. The movie is a romantic/teen/comedy/zombie/apocalypse movie. Rated PG-13.

Stand Up Guys - Christopher Walken, Al Pacino, Alan Arkin. Pacino plays a man who has just served 28 years in prison after refusing to turn over one of his associates. Now, his old friend has met him at the prison and the two soon pick up a third member of their crew and decide to spend the night making up for lost time. Bullets start flying as the three old friends engage in insane murder, mayhem, sex and everything in between. However, one of the friends has been given a task by a former mob boss in regards to his recently-released friend. As the night wears on, his time to perform this task, or come up with an alternate solution, is running out. Rated R.

Bullet to the Head - Sylvester Stallone, Sung Kang, Sarah Shahi. A hitman, played by Stallone, has to team up with a cop to solve the murders of their respective partners. The two set out to seek revenge against the guys who offed the people closest to them and mayhem, bloodshed and bullets ensue.
