Have you ever dreamed of working in the kitchen with the brilliant chef Thomas Keller? Well, the lucky people at the opening celebration tonight for his Bouchon Beverly Hills got the next best thing: A full tour of the kitchen, including the opportunity to shape their own loaves of bread and then pick them up, fresh out of the oven, half an hour later.
The opening of Bouchon was a star-studded event, with Pierce Brosnan, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jay Leno, Ryan Seacrest, Don Johnson, Larry King, and Star Jones eating, drinking and graciously posing for photos when asked. But the real star of the evening for cooking enthusiasts was the beautiful, spotless, OCD-organized kitchen. When asked whether it was always this clean, several staff members said yes: Keller, it seems, is a neat freak of the highest order, and the pristine kitchen is his trademark. There's no cleaning crew, either: The staff does it after service, with each member taking on a specific cleanup job.
Enjoy these photos - an insider's look at what promises to be one of the busiest kitchens in Los Angeles.
