While the Jon and Kate Plus 8 Season 5 opener made it seem like the prospect of the Gosselins' divorce was still ambiguous at this point, sources are saying that the reality TV stars are much closer to a nasty split -- and that their separation will lead to a fight on how to divvy up a $10 million estate.
Sources close to the family supposedly told the National Enquirer (OK, admittedly not the most reliable source) that both Jon and Kate have met with "high-powered lawyers" without each other's knowledge, and that they want this all to happen fast:
"Jon said their goal is to be legally separated by July 15 because Kate wants to move on quickly," an insider told The ENQUIRER.
Another insider also told the tabloid that there's a "small fortune at stake here -- easily $10 million" and that "Jon and Kate will be fighting over it like cats and dogs!"
If that $10 million fortune is accurate, perhaps they're making more money than previously thought. No matter what's going on, after racking up 9.8 million viewers last week, America will definitely be tuning in to watch it all play out.

Other than for his kids sake, why should Jon care how quickly Kate moves on? theres something here we as fans aren't being told.
Many of us can't find job. I'd like to see them struggle some so they can see they don't really live in the real world!!!

I am also, unemployed at this time in my life and I would not wish the stress on anyone...if you don't know about the Gosselins you should not comment...Kate and Jon struggled in the beginning and after the documentary and an unexpected fan base they are now rolling in it...let's hate them for it! What a concept...also, Kate seemingly was raised with no frills...she knows what it's like to struggle that's why she has an over zealous inclination to have financial security. I lived a six figure income (nothing compared to theirs but, a very nice life, never the less)for 28 yrs. until my ex went through his mid life crisis and our financial secuity. He ruined us and I have been struggling financially for five yrs.. It is an eye opener...Anyone wishing ill will onto someone else because of THEIR struggles speaks volumes.

I have great respect for Kate. I also support their decision to carry on filming. Try putting 8 kids who are close in age through University at the same time. I wish them both luck through their hardship. Yes these are hard times for all of us, but ill wishes towards anyone speaks volumes of true character

People want to knock Kate because she has put her family in a position to get paid for the same thing everyone does everyday...live their lives. And lets not forget she makes money apart from the show...she does her speaking engagements and has her books.
I hope Jon doesn't get a nickle. He is so pompus and rude. I can't stand his earring flashing face anymore. He makes me sick. Kate is the one that does the books and speaking engagments and all. She deserves the money since he is a cheater and a liar. He lied about not being with the school teacher (and she is not a looker let me tell you that...what he seen in her when he had Kate at home I will never know...) He needs to move out and get a life. Kate will move on without Jon and down the road he will wake up alone and old and wonder why his life is so cold. I hope he does the womanizer!! You suck JON!!!!

I love the show and the kids are so adorable.I feel sad the marriage didn't last. Jon and Kate have gotten off track and I actually feel sick neither one stopped long enough to sit down with one another and discuss what brought them together. The marriage and Jon and Kate come first then the children. The husband must always put the wife first and the wife must always put her husband first!!!!!!!
How ridiculous to say "many of us can't find a job. I'd like to see them struggle..." Who wishes struggling on ANYONE! Maybe your attitude is what is keeping you down, loser!
