CBS has a slew of hit comedies, several of which are long-running. The network announced that this season would be the last of “How I Met Your Mother,” and fans would learn the identity of the woman in question. According to an October 30 report by E! Online, there is a plan in place for a spin-off of “HIMYM.” It will be done for the CBS network and is tentatively called “How I Met Your Father.” Fans have had mixed reactions about the news.
According to the report, the show will center around a female character and events leading up to how she meets her husband. The writers plan to use the bar as a starting ground in order to connect the two shows. The characters will be entirely separate, with the only connection being the bar. Rumor has it that the new cast will appear in the series finale in order to make the distinction.
As of now the show has not been written, but there is definitely something in the works. The name is tentative and may change as the show develops. It would be exciting to see the show done from a woman’s perspective this time. CBS has noted that ratings for “How I Met Your Mother” are still high despite it being the final season. When the show is ready to debut, CBS may have another hit to add to the growing collection.
