Clevelanders have the opportunity to see a piece of Civil War history come to life at Hale Farm & Village in Bath, Ohio as they play host to the 24th annual Civil War Reenactment on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10. Hale Farm & Village is approximately a 30 minute drive from Cleveland.
Civil War Reenactment One of the largest Civil War reenactments in Ohio, Hale Farm & Village's event will give visitors the chance to meet Civil War soldiers and civilians, shake hands with "President Abraham Lincoln" and witness a reenactment of a battle between Union and Confederate troops (and the thundering of cannon fire) just yards away. More than 500 historical re-enactors are expected to participate in the event.
The battle will take place at 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
Visitors will be able to learn information about Civil War fashions and have the chance to shop for historic items (like clothing, shoes, corsets, foods and even a hoop skirt) along Sutler's Row.
Hours for the Civil War reenactment event are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children (3-12). Admission for Western Reserve Historical Society members is free.
