As a transplanted Long Islander now living in Los Angeles, it’s always interesting to hear about what's happening in my home area, especially hip new restaurants which were rare when we lived there.

Well it’s happened in Port Jefferson Village, where the anticipated Arden is getting set to open its doors as Long Island's newest vibe dining hot spot. The décor, inspired by the Manhattan design firm Celano Design, boasts a South Beach meets Long Island motif with a with banquette seating fused with the warmth of beautiful reclaimed woods and lighted candles.

Inside the 4,400 square foot is the perfect venue for live music featuring Long Island's most popular bands with a state-of-the-art sound and AV system belting out tunes to twerk by. Sports fan can view games on 17 oversized LED HDTV's .

The menu, created by Chef Scott Hastings (formerly of Dockers in Westhampton, features an American style tapas(served in small or large plates and perfect for sharing) from duck tacos and sushi to Papardelle short rib ragu and 24 ounce Tomahawk ribeye steaks-which you can wash dowjn with the Arden's "Pour Your Own Pint" amenity.

. The Arden's menu was created by the executive chef at Dockers in Westhampton, Chef Scott Hastings. From duck tacos to sushi to Papardelle short-rib ragu to a 24oz Tomahawk ribeye, the menu is an eclectic collection of savory flavors.

It sure sounds like this could become the in sport for the people of Port Jefferson, an incorporated village in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York on the North Shore of Long Island.
