A heaven for games and music at Rockage2.0

In just three days, The San Jose Women's Club will play host to the area's ultimate festival of music and gaming. Feb. 8 - 11, Rockage2.0 will celebrate retro gaming, local bands and gaming panelists from Silicon Valley and Beyond.

With local acts like Cartoon Bar Fight, San Francesca, Good Hustle, The Albert Square, Gnarboots, Shinobu, experimental flutist Meerenai Shi and loads of area DJs providing the soundtrack, participants play away on an mini-universe of retro arcade games. Panelists like San Jose's local music community, Make a Scene San Jose, the Silicon Valley Roller Girls, punknews.org, and The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment Oakland's Video Game Museum (The Made), The San Jose State University Game Dev Club plus many more provide talks and presentations throughout the event.

The music goes beyond San Jose as gamer bands like minibosses, crash faster and Unizen take the stage, as well. The event's crown jewel comes stright from Athen, Georgia, as Bit Brigade has wowed gaming festivals around the country. The rock quartet accompanies master gamer, Noah McCarthy, as he does syncopated full runs through classic retro titels such as: Contra, Megaman II and Castlevania.
