A healthy yellow drink

Lemon zest to kill the pests!
Julie Wanner, CMA, AS, FIFHI Certified

It seems like everyone is getting sick lately and there is a way to kill the germs. In case you’re wondering it’s not about taking more antibiotics either. In addition, antibiotics kill not only the bad bacteria but the good guys too. Unfortunately, antibiotics can even cause a secondary infection such as a yeast infection.

Have you tried the healthy yellow drink? Yes, the drink that contains cold or warm alkaline water, fresh squeezed lemon juice, stevia, and peppermint leaves. I believe the best fruit to kill germs is the lemon since it contains antiseptic qualities. Lemons are a powerful antioxidant and contain vitamin C, folate, potassium, and limonene. If you have a sore throat gargle with warm lemon juice and your throat will feel much better. If you have diabetes, make sure your vitamin C levels are adequate so any wounds you have will heal quickly. If you’re still not convinced you should drink a healthy yellow drink here are numerous benefits your body receives from vitamin C.

~Boosts your immune system
~Helps prevent colds and speeds up recovery time
~Protects people from cancer and heart disease
~Relieves mild allergies
~Helps decrease incidences of blood clots
~ Inhibits scurvy

~Aids in absorption of iron
~Aids in treating asthma
~A natural form of laxative
~Inhibits the formation of cataracts
~Helps keep gums healthy
~Helps decrease cholesterol in the blood
~Boosts defenses against bacteria and viruses
~Combats bladder and kidney infections
~Vitamin C helps increase glutathione

When you get up in the morning have a healthy warm yellow drink as it will detox your liver. When you add in the peppermint leaves you receive health benefits such as fighting off colds and flu. Also, the menthol in the peppermint will clear out congestion from colds and chest infections.

This winter enjoy drinking your healthy yellow drink which contains a lemon zest that will kill off the pests.
